The American Independence Day Celebrations went off with a bang at the Club on the 4th with a Shotgun start and a Texas Scramble. Although the majority of the players were non‐Americans, they all got into the spirit of the day with great enthusiasm.
90+ guests enjoyed the Hog Roast and American barbecue lunch followed by typical American Cakes including the best carrot cake and chocolate brownies in Spain baked by our excellent pastry chef Joana.
The Star Spangled Banner was fantastically performed by Arran Harding of Tres Divos followed by The Three Rivers Duo (Arran and his partner Chris Frost), both on guitars and singing some great American Music. Dancing in golf shoes was acceptable!! A special birthday was celebrated by our President’s wife Miny Verboon who received flowers and champagne from the club as a thank you for her support and loyalty over the years.
Prizes of nearest the pin and longest drive along with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were awarded.
