Hot, hot, hot
Here we are, feeling the full heat of a Costa del Sol summer but our course is in great condition and looking as green as many of our members can remember. Well Done to Monty and all the ground staff.
Many of our lady members have chosen to holiday in cooler climes but our stalwarts have remained and 12 of us played in a recent friendly, mixed competition, with Los Arqueros. In the home fixture, we had a resounding win, 5-1, followed by a great meal on the large terrace.
As you can imagine, we were quietly confident, going into the away match but Los Arqueros played superbly on their home course and won 5 1/2 to 1/2, which meant that they won overall. Well done to everyone, who took part on 2 hot, summer days.
Looking to the future, as Ladies Coordinator, I have decided to stand down after 3 years. It has been a great honor to lead the ladies in our Interclub competitions and to initiate our regular, monthly ‘Birdie Juice’ days, where we have been able to include academy and new lady members in meeting and having a fun competition, with all of us established lady members.
Over the 3 years, the ladies membership numbers have grown massively, and we can all look forward to a very bright future. I would like to take this opportunity to wish our next Ladies Coordinator, all the very best. Nomination forms will be emailed to all members, in early September.
