Dear Ladies,
As most of you already know, I have taken over on the Ladies Interclub Captain position from Sheelagh Maloney, who did an exceptional job over the last three years. While I may not reside in Marbella full-time, I spend considerable long periods of time in this beautiful paradise, so rest assured, all Interclub Matches and Birdie Juice competitions will continue as planned.
Ladies Birdie Juice is back!
The Ladies Birdie Juice competition is back, and signing up for it will be on last Friday of each month as part of the normal Friday competition, through the Clapphouse app under “Friday Members Competition & Ladies Birdie Juice”.
A big thank you to our Captain, Jan Zadruzynski, for organizing the event on Friday, October 25th. The Birdie Juice Ladies team -Sarah Galvin, Susan Sweeney and Edna Graneli- did an amazing job, finishing 2nd overall and taking 1st place in the Ladies Birdie Juice competition. Their win earned them both a monetary prize for the overall competition and a bottle of wine for the Birdie Juice victory.
Well done, ladies!
Interclub Marches Update
Our Interclub Matches versus Los Arqueros, originally scheduled for November, had to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Both the home and away games were called off, and I am glad that decision was made, especially with the Dana storm affecting Malaga and Marbella so badly. I can assure you that all our ladies on both teams were greatly relieved when the final decision was made. We look forward to playing Los Arqueros next year!
For those looking ahead, the full ladies interclub fixture schedule for 2025 has already been finalised. Don’t forget to sign up- the sheet is available on the board in the corridor near Satu’s office.
Captain’s Day- A Great Success!
Our Captain’s Day was a huge success, and I think everyone had a wonderful time playing golf, socialising over lunch and even hitting the dance floor!
A big thank you to Jan for organising such a fantastic event. And, of course, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had plenty of fun… some cheeky kisses exchanged for extra glasses of wine certainly added to the laughter!
Lastly, congratulations to Sheelagh Maloney, who won the Ladies Category Trophy. Well done, Sheelagh!
