Dear Ladies,
As I sit here writing this newsletter, gazing out at the clouds, I can’t help but chuckle at how much rain we have had. Despite the unpredictable weather, our spirits are high and we’ve been having an amazing time on the course, rain or shine. And speaking of shining, I am thrilled to announce that our club is thriving with a fantastic membership of 60 vibrant and passionate ladies as part of our community. This growth, with a different range of handicaps and nationalities, shows the strength and enthusiasm that each of you bring to the game.

Interclub Matches Update
La Cala:
In February, we played at home against La Cala Ladies, certainly a competitive team. And what a stellar result we had in both games! At home, we celebrated a brilliant win with a score of 8.5 to MGCC and 3.5 to LC. When we visited La Cala, we played a solid 6 & 6, which resulted in an outstanding total victory. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome, and it is a true testament to the hard work and skill of everyone who participated. A huge well done to all the ladies involved!
MGCC 14.5 / La Cala 9.5
Los Arqueros:
Our game against Los Arqueros was set for March 5th, we were all excited for the away match, even though the weather wasn’t looking great. We piled onto the minibus, ready to take on the challenge but after 30 minutes of arrival, the game was called off and a half agreed. We were extremely disappointed, but we returned to Marbella Golf Country Club and four of us managed to head out on the course to play.
I would like to thank all the ladies on the team on that day but a special well done to Johanna Paavilainen and Annette Frederiksen, who as new members have thrown themselves into the matches without fear!
The return game took place on Tuesday, April 1st, and our ladies took good care of our guests, both during the game and over lunch. The match was very challenging as we had to play very high handicappers, having to give 22 shots in one of the teams but we fought hard and the final result was a very impressive win, 8.5 for Marbella Golf and 0.5 for Los Arqueros.
MGCC 14.5 / Los Arqueros 6.5
El Chaparral:
Unfortunately, for the second consecutive year, El Chaparral had to cancel due to the lack of ladies from their club able to participate. While we’re disappointed, we understand that circumstances can change, and we wish them the best moving forward. Given this recurring situation, the decision has been made to replace El Chaparral with a new club.
Exciting News: Aloha Golf Club and Marbella Club Golf Resort
I am thrilled to announce that we will be hosting Aloha Golf Club (home) on July 28th and Marbella Club Golf Resort (away) on October 6th, with very busy schedules, we have agreed to a new format: we will alternate playing one year at home and the next away or vice versa. These are events you won’t want to miss, so be sure to mark the date in your calendars and sign up to join this exciting match!
