The last Friday in each month is now a designated Ladies competition, with a twist. Our Lady Members can invite guests and we play a different format each time eg, Pairs Texas Scramble, 4 club challenge etc. However, there is one constant theme: each lady brings their own celebratory drink, in a hip flask and if anyone in their flight scores a ‘Birdie’, there is a celebration on the next tee, where the group toasts ‘To The Birdie’! Our next competition will be on Friday 28th April and we will be playing 4 ball Stableford with best 2 scores on each hole counting. Please always sign up early as places are limited.
Our Ladies Interclub team has completed home and away matches against Miraflores and what a great 2 days we had. Overall, we lost but it is great to see that so many Ladies are now signing up to play in the team. Of course, we want to win but having a fun day out, good golf, a lovely meal and making new friends is wonderful. We have 2 more fixtures yet to play this spring, El Chaparral at home and Los Arqueros away. Keep your fingers crossed!
Last, but not least, The Solheim Cup trophy paid a visit to MGCC in February. There was a photo opportunity for all members or visitors to have their photo taken with the famous trophy. I was just one of the lucky people to have a photo taken. There were several events at MGCC during that week and the videos of the events were all posted on the MGCC social media. On behalf of all the Lady Members at the club, I would all like to thank Catherine Shiels, MGCC Solheim Cup Ambassador, who is doing a great job in promoting our club, all over Spain. ‘”Well Done Catherine, your hard work does not go unnoticed”.
It won’t be long now, until the Solheim Cup Tournament starts in September at Finca Cortesin. So, #Vamos Girls!
