On Friday, November 10th 2017, the 7th Annual McDonald Trophy was held at Marbella Golf Country Club on a beautiful bright sunny day on the Costa Del Sol.
A field of 52 members and guests played a stableford competition followed by a 3 course lunch on the main sea view terrace. The McDonald Trophy is held in honor of Brendan and Bernie McDonald, founding members of MGCC, and all prizes are sponsored by the McDonalds.
The winners were as follows:
1st Place Men – Willem Mostert, handicap 28, with 36 points and 20 points on the back 9
2nd Place Men – Alex Craig, handicap 20, with 36 points as well but only 18 on the back 9 holes
3rd Place Men – Pat Jones, handicap 9, with 36 points too but only 15 on the back 9
1st Place Ladies and the Overall Winner – Catherine Shiels, 38 points with handicap 21
2nd Place Ladies – Maxine Hobson, 36 points with handicap 30
3rd Place Ladies – Audrey Gibson, 35 points with handicap 22
Nearest the Pin Ladies – Petra Martini-Lauk, hole 3
Nearest the Pin Men – Carl Horne, hole 11
