At Marbella Golf we have 4 multilingual and highly qualified professionals who offer lessons and group classes for both beginners as well as for experienced players to improve their game.

Ángel Ibáñez

Ángel was born and raised in Marbella. He is a professional player and a Sports Technician certified by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation. He has been offering his services in Marbella Golf since 2010 and since 2018 he is also a coach of UGPM (UNIVERSITY GOLF PROGRAM MALAGA), one of the few European high-performance golf programs.

In his more than 30 years of passion for our sport, he has been part of the teams of Andalusia and Spain as an amateur player, being champion of Andalusia on several occasions and third classified by teams in the University World Championship in 2000 while studying his Economics degree. After he graduated, he played in Professional Tours, with 5 victories in the Andalusian Circuit and several attempts to qualify for the European Tour without much success.

Since he did his first golf shots, Ángel has been really interested in technique, training methodologies, junior development and physical and psychological aspects that directly affect the player’s performance both at the competition and initiation levels. This interest has led him to learn from the best coaches in the area, to attend courses in Spain and the United States and to take advantage of the new technologies in order to continue training himself to offer the best possible service to all those golfers who want to start learning or to improve their playing level.

Stephane Hoarau

Born in Paris, Stephane is a top qualified teaching professional with 20 years of coaching experience including David Leadbetter Golf Academy and Bridgestone Senior Advisor. He is an International PGA member #1042. “I consider to be an honest, reliable and efficient person”.

Stephane can teach in English, Spanish and French and does individual and group lessons. He is very liked by juniors and can teach Tour Pros as well.

Phillip Tanham

Phillip is a Fully Qualified PGA Professional from Ireland. Through his training with the PGA, Phillip has developed his coaching by learning from leading experts in the golf coaching and sport science industry. Starting his career in Ireland, he then moved to Spain to coach full time at US Open Major Winner Michael Campbell’s golf academy at Villa Padierna and has now settled at the beautiful Marbella Golf and Country Club.

Phillip has a wealth of experience working and achieving results with players of all levels from juniors and beginners, right up to playing professionals in a fun, relaxed environment. By working with Phillip, you will experience a holistic approach to your golf development and performance. Combining the world’s leading coaching technology, and Phillips extensive knowledge of the technical, physical and mental aspects of the game you will be given a blueprint to your success.
