The Andalusian Royal Golf Federation rewards the Tourist Board’s promotion efforts at its annual dinner

The Andalusian Royal Golf Federation (RFGA) has recognised the Costa del Sol Tourist Board’s promotion efforts in the organisation’s annual dinner. A plate was given to Tourist Board President Salvador Pendón in recognition of the work done for the golf industry. Our President was accompanied by members of our Golf Department. Upon scooping the prize, Mr Pendón mentioned how the Tourist Board and the Andalusian Golf Federation had been working together for many years now with the aim of publicising the world-class golf facilities available in our travel destination.

The ceremony, which took place at the Málaga Motor Museum, was attended by former President of the Spanish Golf Federation (RFEG) Emma Villacieros and professional golfers Miguel Ángel Jiménez and Álvaro Quirós. Awards were also given to several individuals and organisations for their achievements in the promotion of the golf industry. The event was hosted by RFGA President Ángel de la Riva.

One of the recipients was Andrés Moncayo, Managing Director of La Duquesa Golf & Country Club, honoured for his lifelong achievements in the golf industry. Likewise, José Antonio Polanco (Board member of RFGA and RFEG) got a plate for his activity to promote golf in the region.

Other awards went to the Mijas Golf Manager Lorenzo Pérez and to Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who in 2010 won the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, the Alstom Open de France, and the Omega European Masters and was a member of the European Ryder Cup winning team.

Golfers who got RFGA plates also included Álvaro Quirós (winner of the Open de España), Noemí Jiménez (International French Championship), and Vicente Serrano (Italian Open Pitch and Putt ).
