The English Golf Union are once again making their facilities & coaches open to the public.
After the fantastic reviews from everyone who attended the ‘England Experience’ in 2009, the English Golf Union (EGU) are again making their finest facilities and expert coaching available to the golfing public on 10th – 12th May 2010.
Last year saw 12 diverse golfers arrive at the National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa, the home of the EGU, in March and September, for a unique three day training programme. Each golfer was informed how to address problems they may face out on the course, providing them with a greater understanding of the game. It was an opportunity of a lifetime for these golfers, whose ages ranged from 17 to 64 and handicaps from scratch to 17.
The England Experience coaching team comprises of four of the best England coaches, Gary Smith and David Ridley, both Golf Monthly Top 25 UK Coaches, Dr. Brian Hemmings and Andy Larmour. All have worked with and taken players such as Richard Finch, Ross McGowan, Chris Wood, Ross Fisher, Dave Horsey and many more onto success on the professional circuits.
Peter Mattsson, EGU Director of Coaching said, “The England Coaching Experience is a snap shot of what a full year’s England Coaching Programme is about and provides various ideas on how golfers can continue their performance development when they get back home. Because as I quite often say to the England Players – it is not about what you do when you are here with us, it is what you do when you are not that matters!”
The three day programme is a true reflection of the EGU’s England team’s training on how to become both mentally and physically strong. It’s a fascinating insight into the world of amateur golf, to experience what it is really like to endure, train and play for your country.
