What a fabulous day for the ARCH Tournament Saturday February 15. Warm weather kept all of the golfers in good spirits as they fought for first, second and third place with a Texas Scramble. An excellent 3-course lunch was served followed by the prize giving hosted by Mike Munden, General Manager.
Our thanks go to the GECKO Pro Tour for sponsoring the prizes. 1st prize was won by Monty Bordelon, Patrick Jones, Catherine Shiels and Debra Glanville. 2nd Prize Audrey and Liam Gibson, John McNamara and Charlie Lynch and 3rd prize Stuart Sutherland, Steve Asplet, Paul Waters and Brian McCartney. Ladies and Men’s Longest Drive and Nearest the pin prizes were also awarded. An auction and raffle helped to raise enough money to buy hay for the horses and donkeys and pay some of the outstanding vet bills. A huge thank you to everyone who donated items for the auction, including a 4 hour yacht excursion for 10 people, a Safari for 2 to Rhonda, Golf lessons for 2, Jet ski rides for 4 people, a massage from our onsite masseuse and a hair treatment.
ARCH would like to say a big thank you to all who turned out to support the event and especially to the staff of Marbella Golf for their hard work and to Claren of Blueberry-Marbella for taking such great photos of the day (more can be found on his website www.blueberry-marbella.es). The success of the day will help ARCH to continue their very important work of rescuing; rehabilitating and re-homing abused and abandoned horses, donkeys and mules.
