The 11 story structure went up in the 1970′s
What seemed impossible to achieve is now finally underway. Craig Cooke the Director of Marbella golf says, ‘The demolition began on the 27 Oct and will be completed within the next six weeks’.
The 11 story structure was built in the 70’s to become a luxury hotel for a north-American hotels chain. The structure which is clearly visible from the N-340 and from the AP-7, became better known as a bird sanctuary over the years as much as a reminder of Marbella turbulent passed. Marbella Golf Club in conjunction with the Marbella Town Hall see the demolition of the structure as part of the new image Marbella is determined to project for the future.
The golf course will not be affected by the demolition and is still open for play. So take the opportunity to visit Marbella Golf Club and watch the demolition from their magnificent Club House.
