The American Independence Day Celebrations went off with a bang at Marbella Golf Country Club on Friday the 3rd July 2015, with a Shotgun start and a Texas Scramble. Although the majority of the players were non-Americans, they all got into the spirit of the day with great enthusiasm.
Our guests enjoyed a typical American style Barbecue lunch and were entertained by Chas Burnett on guitar. The Star Spangled Banner was sung with gusto by all.
Prizes of nearest the pin along with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were awarded.
Nearest to pin for ladies was for Christa Spänhoff and for men for Steve Cullen. The winning teams were:
1st place; Steve Asplet, Maxine Hobson, Gerard McDonough & Sue McDonough
2nd place; Steve Cullen, Anita Cullen, John Radcliffe & Stuart Sutherland
3rd place; Stuart Paterson, Jack Smith, Tim Smith & Yumiko Smith
