Last Friday, July 4th, 2014, American Independence Day, we held our annual golf and barbeque event commemorating this day in American History.
52 golfers played a Texas Scramble beginning with a 9:30am shotgun start and finishing with our renowned American style barbeque on our sea view terrace, followed by prize giving.
The winners were Paul Dunford, Grant Comley, Jason Senior and Clive Tyler. Hugh Craig, George Twyman, Catherine Shiels and James McNab came second and the team of Monty Bordelon, Pat Jones, Tom Richardson and Pilar Scenna were third. The prizes for the longest drives were for George Twyman in the men’s category and for Maxine Hobson in the ladies’.
Entertainment was provided by one of our Members, the highly entertaining Hugh Craig, as DJ and the party went on through the evening.
